Fire and Smoke Class given by Belimo.  
This class will cover Basic Smoke Control Strategies, Smoke Control Equipment, Codes and Standards and a variety of other topics.  Classes will be held on AUGUST 19, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. at the Local 148 Training Center, 2929 S. Jefferson Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63118.  No cost to Local 148 Members, $100.00 for all non-members. 
 
Preventative Maintenance Seminar for Air Conditioning Units.
This class will cover:  Motors; Economizers; Condensers; Wiring; Compressors; Evaporators; Drain Lines and Drain Pans; Cleaners; Contactors; and PM Tasking Outline. This class will be held on SEPTEMBER 23, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. at the IUOE, Local 148 Training Center.  No cost to Local 148 Members, $100.00 for all non-members.

I.U.O.E LOCAL 148
STATIONARY ENGINEERS TRAINING PROGRAM

 This is a two year comprehensive training program for persons interested in becoming a Stationary Engineer. Classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. 

Upon successful completion of this course, the graduate will be qualified to sit for the examination for their Class-1 Stationary Engineers’ license, administered by the Board of Engineers. 

            The training program is divided into five subject area modules:
 


BASIC BOILER DESIGN & OPERATION

The course covers:

Materials and procedures used in boiler construction
Combustion equipment and operation
Boiler heating surface and capacity

 

Apparatus for safe and efficient operation
ASME code requirements
